AFAIKT, cmake on Linux first links the libraries with RPATH settings pointing 
to your build dir, such that you can test the programs without installing 
them or playing with LD_LIBRARY_PATH. When they are installed, the library is 
relinked without RPATH and the standard lib paths apply. Cmake does this 
automatically.  I would assume the same applies for Mac OS X.
