You might lose samples with short intervals. Check:
cat /dev/oprofile/stats/cpu*/sample_lost_overflow
Increase the buffer-size with the opcontrol --cpu-buffer-size and
--buffer-size options.
Also, the oprofile load for sampling increases with short intervals.
