I messed around with this problem for a while with no result.

Accidentally stumbled across a workaround:
Not exactly the same as RedShift, but KDE has Night Color Control, which 
just showed up in the System Tray. It doesn't have a setting for daytime 
color temperature. Might be baked in because it shows up in System 
Settings > Display.
