Cinnamon 2.0 is in Mageia Cauldron, which has GNOME 3.10. Seems to work
ok.

Deprecated functions cannot be dropped from GTK+. At most, they'll be
marked for deprecation. What is possible is that the build is failing
due to specifically being configured to error out in such cases. That's
wrong thing to do though. Usually removing -Werror would resolve this
and is not cheating IMO.
