If you would like a Qt4 based image viewer then AFAIK Gwenview should be the default for KDE4.

That i did not know, but explains why it is not choosen now: i did not
install xfce yet...!
I will try what happens when i install xfce..
Well, i would like a qt4 based app, if it works fine..
I never saw ristretto before my original and now, wrecked 11.2A0
install, which i replaced with the last netinstall snapshot.
