On another machine:

Isengard:~ # ls -lh /var/lib/rpm/Packages
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 286M Mar 18 16:49 /var/lib/rpm/Packages
Isengard:~ # rpm -qa | wc -l
4437
Isengard:~ #


4437  -  286M
11026 →  710 M.

My Packages file should be around 710 MB, but it is 1.3 Gigs. Nearly double.
