You need to check that KDE is using the GStreamer back-end rather than
the VLC backend.  Either in Amarok choose Settings / Playback /
Configure Phonon, or run System Settings / Multimedia / Audio and
Video / Backend.  You should then see a list of backends, move
GStreamer to the top and click apply.  If you don't have GStreamer as
an option then you need to install the phono-backend-gstreamer package
in Yast.
