i'm aware of that and tried it. half through the compilation process i
got the message that the kernel driver couldn't be built. no further
explanation (perhaps an error no. which i don't remember). and yes, i
have kernel source installed.

in the meantime i found in different forums & blogs people who claim
that 2.6.36 nvidia drivers don't yet work -- whatever that may mean.
