I have always used Nvidia when I have a choice. In the computer in
question, it came with an ATI card (FireGL V3300). So I thought I would
see how it worked. Can't say I am impressed with support. I guess I will
be switching to Nvidia.
I wonder how far back Nvidia support goes? I recall a legacy driver that
kept support for older cards at some level. Of course, that means that
the cards were at least still supported at a level equivalent to when
they were purchased. ATI, OTOH, simply dropped their 'older' cards
altogether.
