I'm looking at the SSL 3 spec of Nov 96 that is at
http://oem.netscape.com/eng/ssl3/draft302.txt. I am trying to understand
some stuff about the SSL handshake protocol.

In particular, does the handshake protocol use all of the stuff in the
record protocol with null compression, MAC and and encryption algorithms, or
does the record layer not come into play until the handshake is finished.
