I think I've found the failure and made a workaround for it.
Fortunately, the failure caused it to leave a stale lock file thus
preventing the gate from syncing up and pushing to the external
onnv-gate mirrour, so no rollback or anything is needed.

I've re-bridged the two putbacks that happened this morning, and turned
the bridge back on.
