A re-read of that makes me realize it could be taken the wrong way. I
was issuing way more commentary on Sun's marketing than engineering.
At least when they renamed everything to include Java in the name they
didn't form disparaging acronyms. This one kinda surprised me. What
surprised me more was that (this Tcl program, I believe) was not named
Java something or another. :)

This is my perception too. The various caiman project meetings are
open and there seems to be a fair amount of discussion on
caiman-discuss. I haven't really had time to keep up with the details
of that, however. To a large part I have not been paying attention
because the full focus seems to be on a pretty installer, not an
unattended installer. I don't care so much about pretty at a 9600
baud console connection. I'm sure that there are common components
between the two, but trying to ask questions about how it interacts
with large-scale system administration seems somewhat unwelcome at
this point.
