Alan,
I don't know if you found the source of the problem that I have when a DOS
program (I used norton commander 4.0) tries to access a cifs server share, but
today, while testing latest nexenta.org code, I've found a very easy way to
spot this problem.
>From a dos prompt, on a win pc accessing a cifs share, a simple
dir ????????.???
finds only those files whose file name is eight chars plus three chars for the
extension, while the same command on a windows share finds all the files up to
eight chars of filename.
I think this is the origin of my problem, I can send you a trace of the
request which fails.
Hope this helps to fix this issue.
Best regards.
Maurilio.
