Would you please provide some more details, they may help to find out 
the cause:
1) Your SAN configuration (HBA/Switch/Storage/Tape)
2) The actions you've taken to "zone SAN client to SAN and Tape Library"
3) Output of "cfgadm -alo show_SCSI_LUN" before and after zoning
4) How do you back up data? Were your backup faster before the above 
operation? How much is the difference?
5) If you reverse the steps in 2), is your backup speed ok?
