There is another bug ID that shows a workaround as a proof of concept that CF or SSD \
or micro drive can be used. Basically, the workaround is  to make the device non \
removable and not seen as ATAPI. I do not know the proper fix for that.

Anyway, I am also interested in getting the Promise 20269 working on SPARC/S10

At this time I know Sun has no plan to release the dad and ata driver for SPARC.

Could Sun change its mind about this?
