Hi,

What I "have" is virtual LDOM machines with two VLAN's each using Multipathing
 via two I/O domains.

there is an access Vlan , and a storage_NFS vlan.

only the Access Vlan has other subnets "on the other side" of the router
  the storage VLAN is Isolated.

As there are no "routes" to anywhere on the storage vlan, I need a mechanism
to point the IPMP probing to the storage-array on the storage net.
Therefore my Idea with a faked route to an imaginary subnet in my previous post.

Its the storage-array that I want to be able to reach.
so why not send the icmp probes to it.
If the array goes down the applications wont work anyway.

As Mpathd selects an arbitrary ipaddress on the storage lan to send
probes to - the probe fails when that arbitrary server is rebooted for any reason.
