If you can provide details, that'd probably help.  It might also be a
good idea to try networking-discuss or nwam-discuss.

What does "ifconfig -a" say?  How about "netstat -ni"?  Are there any
related log messages?

If this is an e1000g, there've been some issues there recently;
searching the archives might help.
