I know of a GPIO serial bus for instrumentation whose acronym expands to that.

No platform that I'm aware of that Solaris runs on has a "GPIO" bus or uses 
it for all interrupts.

your question simply makes no sense.  Do you have a specific machine you're 
trying to run Solaris on, and do you think "GPIO" is somehow connected to 
the problem?

What is your actual problem?
