Hello,

I am facing this problem for quite some time now. I have looked all over the
place for a solution but i was not able to find one.
I am unable to start in any way the stmf service. When booting the machine
after mounting the zfs filesystem the stmf service get in maintenance mode -
brought here by svc.startd who fails repeatedly to enable it.
*svcs -xv
svc:/system/stmf:default (STMF)
State: maintenance since 26 July 2010 10:07:56 AM EEST
Reason: Start method failed repeatedly, last exited with status 1.
   See: http://sun.com/msg/SMF-8000-KS
   See: man -M /usr/share/man -s 7D stmf
   See: man -M /usr/share /man -s 1M stmfadm
   See: /var/svc/log/system-stmf:default.log
Impact: 1 dependent service is not running:
        svc:/network/iscsi/target:default
*The message present in logs for the service is the following:
*[ Jul 26 10:07:56 Method "start" exited with status 1. ]
[ Jul 26 10:07:56 Executing start method ("/lib/svc/method/svc-stmf start").
]
svc-stmf: unable to load config*

At boot after this service is getting in maintenance state a second after
the svc:/system/sysevent:default gets in the same state:
*svc:/system/sysevent:default (system event notification)
State: maintenance since 26 July 2010 10:08:04 AM EEST
Reason: Restarting too quickly.
   See: http://sun.com/msg/SMF-8000-L5
   See: man -M /usr/share/man -s 1M syseventd
   See: /var/svc/log/system-sysevent:default.log
Impact: This service is not running.*
For the sysevent service the message present in logs is the following:
* Jul 26 10:08:02 Executing start method ("/lib/svc/method/svc-syseventd
start"). ]
[ Jul 26 10:08:03 Method "start" exited with status 0. ]
[ Jul 26 10:08:04 Stopping because process dumped core. ]
[ Jul 26 10:08:04 Executing stop method ("/lib/svc/method/svc-syseventd stop
97"). ]
[ Jul 26 10:08:04 Method "stop" exited with status 0. ]
[ Jul 26 10:08:04 Restarting too quickly, changing state to maintenance. ]
* I guess the problem might be related also with the fact that sbdadm is not
able to function properly. When trying to display all the available LU's on
the system the following error is displayed:
*sbdadm list-lu
sbdadm: list failed
*I found a discussion where this problem might be related with an
impossibility to load the appropriated driver but i did not get that message
in any circumstances.
I am currently using snv_134. The system was upgraded 1 month ago from
snv_128. The zpool configuration present on the system is a minimalistic one
containing only the rpool. I have tried rebooting several time, reverting to
a snapshot made at system installation, clearing all the services a couple
of times, trying to enable them in different orders but without any success.
Thank is advance,
