Seems this bird has slipped through the cracks. Pidgin 2.7.3 was released two weeks ago so I'm requesting the immediate update to Pidgin in the following spec file:

 http://src.opensolaris.org/source/xref/jds/spec-files/branches/gnome-2-30/base-specs/pidgin.spec
