Is there a plan to have a Vermillion IPS package repository where one
can update to the bleeding edge Vermillion packages on an OpenSolaris
system?

I have the same questions wrt SFE.  I use a few packages from SFE, and
I'm not sure if using the old JDS CBE with pkgtool to build and install
them will work on OpenSolaris given that none of the dependencies will
be recognized.
