===========================================
Robert Milkowski: OpenAFS on Solaris 11 x86
===========================================

The talk will explore what makes Solaris unique in large OpenAFS
deployments with petabytes of storage and how it can save millions of
dollars and make debugging and performance analysis much easier and
quicker compared to other platforms. We will explore some of the unique
features of OpenAFS and how they are used to migrate one of the largest
OpenAFS deployments in the world - completely on-line and transparently
to AFS clients. Real world examples of how DTrace was used to improve
OpenAFS performance and scalability will be discussed.

Robert Milkowski, Vice President, Unix Engineering at Morgan Stanley,
has been using UNIX professionally for over 15 years and has been
actively involved with OpenSolaris from the very beginning. He has
presented twice before at Solaris SIG events under the London
OpenSolaris User Group (LOSUG) banner and has contributed the ZFS
synchronicity feature (sync=standard|always|disabled), present in
Solaris 10, Solaris 11 and Illumos.
