Hello All,

The "Caiman, Solaris Install Revisited" project is now live at:

http://opensolaris.org/os/project/caiman

Caiman is the code name for the program, and set of projects, to create 
a new
Solaris installation experience. The current working ideas center on 
concepts
such as:

    * Updated and simplified graphical and text user interfaces which carry
    Sun's current branding
    * Integrated hardware compatibility testing
    * Integrated live CD/DVD experience to provide a "try before you buy"
    capability
    * Deep integration with the latest Solaris features, such as ZFS and SMF
    * Simplified system configuration, integrated with the 
post-installation
    experience
    * Simple, fast, and reliable installation of additional software after
    installation
