As Dutch says, these do look very much like Mono or possibly hardware issues than OAR \
loading problems per se.

As another test, I would recommend sticking with Mono 2.6.4.  This has always been \
very stable for me in Ubuntu 10.10.  Anecdotally, the Mono 2.8 series seems less \
stable so far.
