Thanks a lot WordfromtheWise, that helped for the moment, I hope there 
will be a fix later :)

FYI: on openSuSE 11.2 you find the default locales in 
/etc/sysconfig/language

And it is NOT enough to change the value for RC_LC_NUMERIC, you have to 
change the value RC_LANG to "en_US.UTF-8"
