I just built the bootstrap script from openpkg-20030223-20030223.src.sh,
installed on a SuSE 8.1 system with the openpkg users only available via
LDAP, and it worked perfectly. Older versions would create the
/etc/passwd, /etc/shadow, and /etc/group entries with then next available
uid and gid values requiring some manual fiddling to remove the file
entries and change ownerships and permissions.

``Democracy extends the sphere of individual freedom, Democracy attaches
all possible value to each man, while socialism makes each man a mere
agent, a mere number. Democracy and socialism have nothing in common but
one word: equality. But notice the difference: while democracy seeks
equality in liberty, socialism seeks equality in restraint and servitude.''
