I can't run OO 641C as a non-root user (which is a bit annoying).

I installed to /opt/OpenOffice.org641
I installed while root.
I installed with the -net option.
I ran setup as a normal user.
I chose workstation installation for the normal user.
When running as normal user i get a dialog box stating that .sversionrc does
not support the current version. I then select 'yes' to run the setup. The
modify/repair options appear to work but have no effect on the problem (ie. i
get the same message every time i run it).
I've tried various other permutations to no effect (ie. without -net option;
full user install; initial install as user(couldn't); installed to
/usr/share, /usr/local etc etc etc). I've tried deleting all files
(including the user and root .sversionrc and .user??? files) and starting
again.

Searched these groups/google/google groups and found similar reported
problems however no suggestions worked for me.

I'm using Mandrake Linux 8.0

I tried ver 638, it gave seg. faults when i attempted to launch as normal
user.

Also, i kept getting errors about "//HACK" not being found until i commented
out the line in soffice beginning with "//HACK..."

It seems odd that each user needs to install individually.
