Did you modify opennms-datasources.xml and forget to modify postgresql.conf to listen \
for connections on an IP other than localhost (127.0.0.1) or all IPs (*) as well as \
step b) above?

Did you move the DB to a different system that OpenNMS?  If so, did you do step b) \
above to allow connections from the remote ONMS host?
