Good day,

Ben, that was the problem. I used 'portdowngrade' to get openjdk6 into ports. I \
installed it and OpenNMS compiled just fine.

However, the "FreeBSD 6.1 install" is very, very out of date as are Sevan's install \
files for the ports collection. All of this still relies on build.sh.

I managed to use ./compile.pl and ./assemble.pl but after installing everything to \
it's final destination, it's trying to use /usr/ports/net-mgmt/opennms as its \
OPENNMS_HOME. What do I need to change in the configuration files or the environment \
so the OPENNMS_HOME is set to /usr/local/OpenNMS ? Is there a command line flag for \
compile.pl or assemble.pl that I can change this? What is it?

Where should I send the changes or will someone create a new page for installing on \
FreeBSD if I send the procedure?

Thank you,

Paul Pathiakis

OpenNMS will not build with OpenJDK 1.7 because of incompatible changes
to the way overrides need to happen in certain classes. We can fix it
for 1.7, or 1.6, but not both.
