This problem of "java.net.SocketException: Unexpected end of file from server" has \
been solved by deleting all the source & work files, reloading the source (OpenNMS \
1.6.7) & recompiling.. I had tried a couple of versions without cleaning up in \
between.. Apparantly there are some components that cause problems if left from \
