Did you modify any of the files? How did you do the upgrade? RPMs,  
debs, etc.

grep for ERROR and FATAL in the logs (clear the logs/daemon directory  
out before starting for clean ones) and post the results. Lots and  
lots of things changed between 1.2 and trunk.
