Thanks Benjamin for your help but I am still having trouble with installing OPENNMS.
I am running FC4 with 2.6.14 kernel.
At the first try I installed the following packages:
opennms1.2.9-2-FC4
rrdtool-1.2-5
postgresql-8.0.8-1
jdk 1.6
I was able to run postgressql and run install -dis successfully.
I could run opensnmp service .I was getting the error( in output.log) lib***.so.o \
can't found.
I searched the Internet and found that I need to install rrdtool 1.0 instead of \
1.2.
Then I removed opennms and rrdtool and installed :rrdtool-1-0.50-25.e14
Then I installed opennms ( I coudn't install it through YUM this time..don't know \
why). (I couldn't install opennms-webapp-1.2.9 ..Is this needed? It complained about \
tomcat4..I have tomcat5 installed)
I was able to run install -dis but when I ran :
>>runjava -S /usr/java/jdk1.6.0_06
runjava: /usr/java/jdk1.6.0_06/ is not Java 1.4 or newer
runjava: specified JRE "/usr/java/jdk.6.0_06/" is not an approperiate JRE..
I really appreciate it if somebody could tell me what I am missing here.

OpenNMS does not support running with GCJ. Install the sun JDK and make
sure that OpenNMS is using it (with runjava -S) instead.
