Hello,

We recently installed OpenNMS 1.5.90 on RedHat Enterprise 5.

I ran out of space in my /var partition. I would like to use LVM to
decrease the space of my other partitions and increase the /var
partition.

Below is the current space allocation

[root@opennms etc]# df -h
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/mapper/VolGroup_ID_28860-LogVol1
                       24G 791M 22G 4% /
/dev/sda3 190M 17M 164M 10% /boot
tmpfs 1.5G 0 1.5G 0% /dev/shm
/dev/mapper/VolGroup_ID_28860-LogVol2
                      3.9G 292M 3.4G 8% /tmp
/dev/mapper/VolGroup_ID_28860-LogVol5
                       21G 3.2G 17G 17% /usr
/dev/mapper/VolGroup_ID_28860-LogVolHome
                       12G 238M 11G 3% /home
/dev/mapper/VolGroup_ID_28860-LogVol4
                      4.5G 3.9G 424M 91% /var

What would be the optimum size for the above partitions, the server is
dedicated to running OpenNMS.

Thanks.
