Tomcat seems to run just fine. The tomcat manager runs fine and all of the
builtin stuff seems to function. The manager reports that is us using Sun
java 1.5.0_12-b04 which is correct. Is there any other way to check if it
is running what I expect other than the tomcat manager and
`/opt/opennms/bin/runjava -s` ?

Here is my condensed tomcat5.conf:

JAVA_HOME="/usr/lib/jvm/java-1.5.0-sun"
CATALINA_HOME="/usr/share/tomcat5"
JASPER_HOME="/usr/share/tomcat5"
CATALINA_TMPDIR="/usr/share/tomcat5/temp"
JAVA_ENDORSED_DIRS="/usr/share/tomcat5/common/endorsed"
TOMCAT_USER="root"
SHUTDOWN_WAIT=15
CATALINA_PID=/var/run/tomcat5.pid
CONNECTOR_PORT=8080
