Thanks very much for that pointer, Mike!

I've added a note on this functionality to the OpenNMS trapd wiki page at \
http://www.opennms.org/wiki/Trapd

Regards,
Tim

You'll want to write an event to detect your unwanted trap and set the logmsg \
attribute to "discardtraps".

See http://www.opennms.org/wiki/Event_Configuration_How-To

Found via Google of "opennms discard snmp traps" - there's other useful links there.

Best,
Mike

I have some devices that send SNMP traps to OpenNMS, and some of these traps I would \

I might be able to reconfigure the devices to not send just these traps but they \

could filter centrally at OpenNMS instead of maintaining a custom configuration on \
various endpoint devices.

OpenNMS syslogd provides some tools to filter incoming syslog messages but I don't \
see similar abilities for trapd, based on looking in the OpenNMS wiki and a web \
search.

Does anyone know if it is possible to filter incoming SNMP traps, ideally by both \
sending IP and trap OID number, and just discard the trap?

I'm currently using OpenNMS 1.12.9 and will be upgrading to ver. 14 in the near \
future.

Thanks,
Tim Miller Dyck
