Hello,
I would like to first take this opportunity to introduce myself as a
student at the Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (EPFL), pursuing
M.S. degree in Computer Science. I completed my B. Tech from IIIT-Allahabad
India in Information Technology in 2011. While looking for ideas that match
my interests, I came across OpenNMS and the project on converting OpenNMS
to use Hibernate.
I would like to express my interest in the idea and obtain additional
details about the same.
- There is no mentor assigned to the project. Would it be carried out in
this year's GSoC?
- I would also like to know about the current state of the conversion
and which modules are left to be converted. I have good experience with
Hibernate, Java and SQL and therefore I hope that I would be able to
contribute to the project.
Please find some additional details about my previous projects below:
I have worked previously as a Google Summer of Code student for the
Inclusive Design Institute and developed an `Image Editor' component for
the fluid infusion framework. I have also worked as a Software Developer
intern at Elca Informatique SA, Lausanne, Switzerland. While at Elca, I
developed a tool named `Easy Box Office'. A detailed description about
these projects can be found in my CV. I also have good research experience
through academic projects as well as research assistantships and
internships.
I also have good experience in Information Retrieval and Data Mining. I
have worked on a project on `Data Mining and Analysis on Twitter'. I have
good experience in programming in Java (with the knowledge of Spring,
Hibernate etc.), C/C++, Matlab, JavaScript (with the knowledge of jQuery
and extJS) and SQL.
