Also seeing this since the upgrade to 1.8.  It must be an inefficient DB
query/update as mentioned.  

I check unacknowledged events as part of my daily NMS routine (with coffee in
other hand) and waiting so long for opennms to ack them after I'm done is an
inconvenience.
