Summary: collectd fails to respond to changes in DB without
                    restart
           Product: OpenNMS
           Version: CVS, unstable
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P1
         Component: Data Collection/RRD
        AssignedTo: buglist@opennms.org
        ReportedBy: ayres@net.orst.edu

To recreate this bug, set up data collection for a node having multiple
interfaces with snmpStorageFlag="select". Initially only primary (P) and
secondary(S) interfaces will be collected, as we would expect. Now use the GUI
or psql and select an additional interface for collection. Data collection for
this interface should begin with the next data collection cycle. However, it
doesn't. Opennms must be restarted for collection to begin on this interface. I
have also verified that if the ifAlias for an interface changes in the DB, that
change is also not recognized until opennms is restarted.
