We have a client who is polling a small set of values once a second and storing
them to an RRD file. The problem is that OpenNMS can't create the file fast
enough before the next poll comes in. This results in OpenNMS trying to create
the file over and over and over again until either it gets lucky (writing the
file while OpenNMS shuts down) or setting the poll rate higher until the file is
created and then setting it back.
