Greetings!
I would first like to thank Dr. Kanter and Darius Jazayeri for helping me
with my previous problem.
My current concern is the current state of OpenMRS 2.0 in relation to
physician use.
During medical training, the importance of history taking and clinical
interview workflow is strongly emphasized. A comprehensive patient history
is the most important part of the clinical encounter, and s the major basis
for coming up with a preliminary diagnosis and differentials. That being
said, the doctor-facing side of OpenMRS 2.0 may be being overlooked.
I think most physicians would be familiar with "*Bates' Guide to Physical
Examination and History-Taking*", which lists down seven core components of
the Comprehensive Health History:
1. [Demographics] Identifying Data and Source of the History;
Reliability
2. Chief Complaint(s) [optional: In patient's own words *free text*]
3. History of Present Illness [3 days prior, ___ complaint, etc]
4. Past History
5. Family History
6. Personal and Social History
7. Review of Systems

In OpenMRS 2.0, should we rely on the Visit Note for all of this
information? In OpenMRS 1.9.8, the patient dashboard shows the doctor a
great overview of allergies, and others. In 2.0, there is no immediate
access to the dashboard when logged in as a doctor.
What about the Physical Examination?
Also, Is there currently no way to display the past/current medications the
patient is taking?
Are all these problems solvable using customized HTML forms?
Thank you for your time. OpenMRS is a great platform! I am really hoping
for more development revolving around the useability of the end-user (the
healthcare professionals who are using OpenMRS and inputting the data),
especially the History Taking part.
Very Truly Yours,
Raymonde Uy
