Subject: Re: New Attendance vs Re-Attendance

I think one other way some implementations have done is to tie forms to the encounter \
type visit. This is a compulsory field in OMRS forms creation in the schema and so \
one can have a HIV Adult Initial , Return Visit etc. I dont know how this will change \
with VISITS more than encounters but its not unusual to think of a return HIV visit \
combined with a TB referral which will be an Initial TB Visit

and as of the date on which the diagnosis occurred, rather than a "confirmed history \
of x" question, so that the "first diagnosis" query will work to distinguish initial \
visits from subsequent visits. You can then distinguish between first visits \
occurring at this facility and at some other facility. Even without a formal record, \
there are times when people come in with evidence of a prior visit elsewhere for this \
diagnosis (casts, stitches, empty medicine containers). Of course, if the national \
definition is "first visit for this diagnosis at this facility" then you should \
follow it. Saludos, Roger

That definition sounds reasonable...I have forward your question to MOH folks who \
should have an answer to that question - I'll actually CC you in that forward and you \
can follow up with them directly.

Let me know if I can be of more assistance.

Hello All,

We are currently implementing OpenMRS in Kibera, Nairobi. I am seeking advice on \
terminology used in the reporting documents for the government of Kenya.

Our team is in the process of working on the Reporting module MOH 705 A&B. We are \
wondering, what data should we be capturing for the following terms: ``new \
attendance" vs "re-attendance"?

We have received a variety of response, one such response is that re-attendances on \
the 705B form is the number of follow-up visits based on a diagnosis.

We are finding it difficult to narrow down the indicators for the Reporting forms, we \
would very much appreciate any feedback or direction.

Thank you kindly,

Badeia
