Cinelerra has an indiginous renderfarm client, I tried it awile back
but it's not well documented and I had some issues with it. Sometimes
it worked sometimes it didn't.... I didn't have that great a test bed
though 3 misc. arcitecture machines on an standard ethernet hub.
Unfortunately for doing an effect render on one large scene, which is
what Im doing it wont migrate the cpu intensice task of the effect . It
only breaks up the job in scene renders.
The recomended renderfarm engine is 6 2G athlon w/ 512mb ram min. and
one dual athlon 2.6G w 1GB ram min on Gigabit ethernet and your in HD
heavan. There is a recently started effort to create a new manual for
Cinelerra. They have a wiki at:

http://www.ftconsult.com/twiki/bin/view/Cinelerra/WebHome

Perhaps we could start a discusion and some documentaion on the subject.
I was planning on making a contribution about using realtime effects
with with Cinelerra. Specificly
http://effectv.sourceforge.net
and
http://veejay.sourceforge.net (amazing project)

These folks would be very interested as well. They are maintaing an
unofficial development/bugfix branch at:
https://init.linpro.no/mailman/skolelinux.no/listinfo/cinelerra

I have not but was planning on it. I am a new member of the hive. I
haven't got my wings yet. I just finishred my first cluster 3 2.6G
Clereons 1GB memory ea. Full kernel source with Nvidia dual head
displays. (6 v4l capture devices, 2 ea) on ethernet and firewire as
soon as I get it working :-(
But that's another subject.

Regards,
Daniel
