I also like the quickwriting idea lot. 
looking at their side there is also a layout where you have two of the primary
selection boxes side by side. that would fit nicely when you hold the freerunner
in landscape mode and would make an input with the thumbs possible. One could
even add a row for extra keys (SHIFT, Layout change, CRTL) in the middle between
the thumbs.

personally I really like the shr predictive keyboard style for writing sms
which work great once you trained the system a bit. Limitations are there 
that it only works well with the fingertip and not with the thick thumb presses.
