Sure, forgot to mention that any time a DN is read, it's checked for 
syntax compliance.  This check of course needs (related) schema bits to 
be loaded; attributeTypes like "dc" are not hardcoded so a DN like 
"dc=example,dc=com" would fail, while "cn=Test" would succeed.
