Subject:    Matching on telephone numbers doesn't ignore spaces

I thought that when you performed a comparison on telephone numbers 
that it was identical to a case exact match but that all spaces and 
"-" characters were ignored.

This does not appear to be the case with the version of OpenLDAP that 
I am playing with at present (2.0.14). Is this a bug, a feature or a 
misunderstanding on my part?
