I would have a look at the publishMaven* tasks:

Publishing tasks

publishMavenPublicationToMavenRepository - Publishes Maven publication 'maven' to \
Maven repository 'maven'. publishToMavenLocal - Publishes all Maven publications \
produced by this project to the local Maven cache. [...]
If I remember correctly, these tasks required a prior full build.
