           Summary: Kernels with usbhost enabled lack drivers for usb
                    devices
           Product: Openembedded
           Version: Angstrom
          Platform: Other
        OS/Version: Mac OS X 10.3
            Status: NEW
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: P2
         Component: Build
        AssignedTo: openembedded-issues at lists.openembedded.org
        ReportedBy: koen at dominion.kabel.utwente.nl

After installing kernel-module-sl811-cs my cfu1u card works great on all
machines I tested it on. But on most machines it's fairly useless since there
are no drivers for usb devices available (ignoring the (un)powered hub
problems).

On a hx4700 I can't use:

* linksys ethernet dongle (asix)
* bluetooth dongle (hci-usb)
* webcam (sn91....)
* serial adaptors (pl2303, keyspan)

On a c700 I can't use

* webcam (sn91....)

Could the maintainers for kernels with usbhost (please enable sl811-cs if your
device has a cf slot :)) have a look at including more usb modules?

Should OE have guidelines what a kernel should build for a given machine
feature set?
