So, should I change it to:
STAGING_FIXMES = "HOSTTOOLS_DIR ${EXTRA_STAGING_FIXMES}"
EXTRA_STAGING_FIXMES ?= ""
And use ${STAGING_FIXMES} instead of ${EXTRA_STAGING_FIXMES} later on?
