It has been a long time since the last time i set up a wu-ftpd, don't you forgot to put a '.' in the home
directory of the users you want chrooted ?

It must looks in /etc/passwd like :

foobar:*:1234:500:foo bar:/home/./foobar:/bin/sh
                                ^
                                 <- here it is
