Thought I would follow up on this-

I've since upgraded both server and client to 3.0, and have yet to
experience an nfsd lockup. 

Now I seem to get the occaisional nfs client hang, but as yet I've
done no fiddling to try and isolate this. Ramping up some buffers
and/or using TCP may alleviate this.

Now while the iron is still hot I'll have to go to 3.1 ;-).
